Greg Souchik "Rock and Roll in Black & White" January 10th - February 28th, 2020 Catered Opening Reception January 10th, 6-8 PM
Join us for Rock and Roll in Black and White - a collection of portraits of music icons from the sixties and early seventies. Some are portrayed at a young age; others in their golden years. The paintings are executed with acrylic paint on canvas, only using black, white and greys in between. The work reflects the media of the era - black and white. The stark contrast of the two colors, the shadow and the light mixed together create a unique view of these artists.
Greg is known as an artist and muralist. He and fellow artist Rick Minard painted murals of several rock stars on the side of a building Souchik owns at 177 Main St. in Bradford. The painting of the portraits depicting Janis Joplin next to fellow musicians Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone coincided with the 50th anniversary of the famous Woodstock weekend in August of 1969.
