Kari Roslund
Kari Roslund Studio

Growing up in Woolrich, Pennsylvania, Kari developed an affinity for woven woolen wares and the story of wool. She never gave it a thought artistically until she and her family decided to raise a small flock of their own. Kari quickly discovered that the characteristics of this material make its versatility as an artistic medium extremely appealing. While most are familiar with the traditional use of natural fibers and how they can be twisted, spun and woven, many are unaware of the interlocking nature of the fibers themselves. As they managed their small herd, Kari discovered that as wool was layered and vigorously rubbed, the individual strands would begin to interlace. Drawn in by it usability and tactile nature, Kari found working with wool viscerally rewarding.
