Tom Militello
Comet Creations
Based in Gowanda, NY, Thomas Militello has been avidly exploring glasswork since 2009. His interest in the craft piqued when he first began collecting vintage marbles. From there, his fascination grew and he made an effort to meet contemporary marble artists; in doing so, he learned more about the process that went into creating glass art. Watching other artists work inspired him to pursue a craft that Militello describes as fun and relaxing. He has studied under Hugh Salkind, Jeremiah Kern and Suellen Fowler at The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass. West Virginia marble artists Sammy Hogue and Eddie Sees provided early fundamental training and inspiration.
Militello is an avid gardener, photographer, fisherman, hunter, kayaker, and amateur astronomer. He served as a member of the Cattaraugus County Arts Council (now Tri-County Arts Council) in 2011.
