Forty of our regional artist members’ works were on exhibit in the Cattaraugus County Arts Council 2016 Member Show. CCAC member artists are invited every other year to exhibit a work of their choice, within specified parameters. It is an opportunity for amateur artists to show their work in a formal gallery setting alongside professional artists. It is also a rare opportunity for the public to see a wide mix of mediums and subjects without the screening of a jury selection process or an exhibit curator. Watercolors, sculpted wood, fabric collage, felted wool, photography, stained glass, oil paintings, and ceramics are just a sampling of the variety that was on display. And, the public at the opening reception was the "guest judge," voting for their three favorite pieces thereby determining the "Audience Choice" winners. Miranda Turner's "Stripes from the Wild" won first place, Judson Brown's "Reluctant One" came in second and Barbara Fox's "To Live With Joy" placed third in the audience choice voting.
