Opportunities in the Arts
- New York State’s First Family is currently seeking artwork for display in the Executive Mansion located in Albany. As a public home, the Mansion serves as a private residence as well as a destination spot for tourists, students and historians.
The New York State Office of General Services Curator is very interested in seeing what might be available for consideration as a loan to the Mansion. Of particular interest are the following:
-Culturally and ethnically diverse representation of artwork and artists.
-Artwork that addresses themes of health, fitness and wellness.
-Environmentally themed or creative reuse art.
For more details about the First Lady's areas of interest and the Governor’s Mansion please go to http://www.ny.gov/governor/firstlady/index.html and www.state.ny.us/exmansion/index.html.
This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the depth and breadth of the collections in museums of New York State as well as some of the creativity, passion and talent of New York Artists.
NYSCA is helping to create an inventory of prospective work for the NYS Office of General Services Curator. Please send images of the prospective work to me via a link or, if necessary, email attachment by Friday, August 29th. The subject line should read: Executive Mansion Art Loan. In the body of the email, please include the name of artist/s, date, dimensions, and medium.
