CCAC is looking for volunteers to help face paint during our annual Art in the Park and Full Moon Family Beach Party. Art in the Park will take place Sunday July 25th at the Jamestown Community College parking lot and will go from 12pm-6pm and the Full Moon Family Beach Party will take place August 13 at Allegany State Park from 6-10 (face painting will be 6-9pm). Face painters will be in blocks of 2 hours and will be working with one other person. We are looking for individuals to do more elaborate "art" inspired designs (template designs provided). The Wright Gallery At The Reg Lenna Civic Center and Active Artists Alliance is now taking submissions for a juried art show. "Audio/Visual" will open on Saturday September 11 and feature art and photography inspired by music. The exhibit will coincide with Local Music Showcase.
Artists interested in participating must follow the following criteria:
- Submit up to 3 samples in digital form.
- Minimum 5x7 at 2/300 dpi, maximum up to 8x10 at 300 dpi.
- Art reflects a musical inspiration.
- Art is original and contain no images under copyright.
- Art is 2-dimensional.
- A title, dimensions and medium is included with each submission.
- Name, mailing address and phone number must be included with samples.
All submissions must be sent to Len Barry (lbarry@artscouncil.com) by August 1 with the subject heading “Audio/Visual” submission. A local jury will review the submissions and choose participating artists by mid-August. If chosen, artist must pay for shipping and handling of art to and from the Wright Gallery. All sales of the art will be conducted by the Arts Council Of Chautauqua County and include a 25% commission that will be allocated toward upkeep and marketing of the gallery. Perry Chalk Art Festival, talking place from 8:30am-1:30pm on July 10 (rain date July 17) in downtown Perry. It's a great day of art-making, sharing your work with appreciative audiences, and enjoying a spectacular summer morning in WNY.
In addition to all necessary supplies, accepted artists receive a $50 stipend.
