Art in the Park and Taste of Olean 2010 | Sunday, July 25 | 12-6pm
Art in the Park, Olean’s original outdoor art show, celebrates its 61st year this year, and the Cattaraugus County Arts Council is once again pleased to be the producer of this historic event. Once again, two long-standing traditional events will combine to bring you a day filled with eclectic art and eclectic tastes: Art in the Park and The Taste of Olean.
Art in the Park, in conjunction with Taste of Olean will be held on Sunday, July 25 from 12pm-6pm on the campus of Jamestown Community College, located in the heart of downtown Olean. Art in the Park will feature the engaging work of regional artists working in all variety of mediums including jewelry, wood, painting, fiber, pottery, and more. Art in the Park is a juried art show and provides a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with the artists. Along with our almost 30 artists, this year we’ll be featuring a few new fun items. The Ink Well is sponsoring a mural painted ‘live’ by Clifton Chadick, Associate Production Designer with the Twin Tiers Theater Festival. (Have you see the Washington Street Theater’s gorgeous new doors? That’s Clifton’s work.) Also, Dave Fultz from Gravitational Bull will be donating his time to provide juggling and balloon animals for kids. Plus, we have several artists ready to do free face painting, and by face painting we mean dragons and birds and feathers that’ll knock your kid’s socks off! So come with an eye for fantastic art, an appetite for great regional food, and enough time to enjoy the demonstrations and live entertainment. See you there For more information on this event please contact the Cattaraugus County Arts Council at artscouncil@verizon.net or 716-372-7455.
